The European Multisport Championships Ibiza 2018 in numbers: 2,650 athletes and 29 countries
Almost 30 countries will be represented by 2,650 athletes in the European Multisport Championships Ibiza 2018. 29 national flags from all over Europe will participate in the National Parade on the 19th of October, Friday, in Santa Eulària Des Riu. The British delegation with almost 1,500 athletes is the largest. More than 130 athletes from Italy, almost 100 German athletes, 102 athletes from France, 76 from Ireland, etc. Cyprus and Lithuania, with just an athlete per country, will also be represented in Ibiza!
In terms of races, the European Middle Distance and the European Aquabike Championships will gather a total of almost 900 athletes, the largest number! The start by Playa d’en Bossa and the finish line by the Marina de Eivissa. The European Duathlon Championship in Santa Eulària des Riu will have 800 athletes. More than 400 athletes will jump off a boat at the heart of Sant Antoni de Portmany bay to compete in the European Aquathlon Championship. As for Cross Duathlon and Triathlon in the beautiful areas of Port Sant Miquel and Cala Bassa, in Sant Joan de Labritja and Sant Josep de SaTalaia, more than 500 athletes will participate. More than 4,000 people will be involved directly or indirectly in Multisport Ibiza 2018.
List of 29 countries present in Ibiza: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bahrain, Croatia, Cyprus, Check Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Holland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine and the host country, Spain. Elite athletes and Age groupers will race in Ibiza ensuring an outstanding event and a fantastic sports atmosphere on the whole isle. European Media will be in Ibiza to cover the event. Ibiza will be at the forefront of the sports field from the 20th to the 27th of October, and even the days prior and after the event.
