All participants (and accompanying guests) of the European Multisport Championship 2018 will have free access to the museums of the city of Eivissa.
From the 22nd to the 28th of October, free access to the following places of interest: MACE (Museu D’Art Contemponai D’Eivissa), Puget Museum, Broner House, Interpretation Centre Madina Yabisa and the Chapterhouse of the old City Council. Visitors will enjoy their art collections with a high cultural and historic value.
The Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa (MACE) opened in 1969 thanks to the efforts made by the City Council of Eivissa and promoted by Ibiza Biennale, with the first edition held back in 1964. It is, therefore, one of the oldest museums in Spain. The MACE shows relevant art collections, very much committed with the vanguard. Some examples are: the works awarded by the Biennale and Ibizagráfic, and the engraving collections donated by Carl van der Voort. Some of the artists whose works are shown are: Will Faber, Eduard Micus, Erwin Broner, ‘Portmany’, Erwin Bechtold, Gilbert Herreyns, Frank El Punto, Antoni Hormigo, Rafael Tur Costa, Tàpies, Equipo Crónica and Millares, etc.
The Interpretation Centre Madina Yabisa, for instance, was a bid to promote audiovisual technology to disseminate the history of the city, in particular, the relevance of Madina Yabisa during the time of Muslim domination. The visitor enters the Cúria, a restored building, and gradually penetrates in a light and imagery environment to finish the itinerary in front of an audiovisual model that shows the evolution of the city with rigor and magnificence. The visitor can also access the interior of a tower that belonged to an old Arabic fortress and see the remains of the old city wall.

The Organizing Committee of the European Multisport Championship Ibiza 2018 is designing a varied and comprehensive agenda to include music and folk performances, typical of the isle of Ibiza. The programme will include many cultural and sport activities to be held all around the isle of Ibiza.
At Sant Miquel port, after the Duathlon European Championship, our guests will enjoy a Baile Payés performance (typical dance of Ibiza). This autochthonous dance is usually included in the cultural agenda during the summer and will also be offered to our guests on the 23rd of October at the headquarters of the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja.
As for the Aquathlon European Championship, athletes will enjoy an outstanding start when jumping on a boat that will take them to the centre of the bay to listen to “On your marks!”. The experience of crossing the finish line at sunset will be unforgettable, the same as the live music performance afterwards with Ibiza Swing Fun Fest. You can see one of their performances HERE
