GENERAL INFORMATION
WHEN WILL IBIZA MULTISPORT 2018 BE HELD?

The isle of Ibiza will hold the Ibiza Multisport 2018 event from the 20th to the 27th of October 2018.

DESCRIBE IBIZA MULTISPORT 2018

Ibiza Multisport 2018 is a sports festival; it will last 7 days and the isle of Ibiza will hold the following 6 European Championships:

DUATHLON: Standard and Sprint. (Run/Bike / Run)
CROSS DUATHLON: (Run/ BTT/ Run)
AQUATHLON: (Run/Swim/Run)
CROSS TRIATHLON: (Swim/BTT/Run)
MIDDLE DISTANCE TRIATHLON: (Swim/Bike/Run)
AQUABIKE: (Swim/Bike)

Most of the races offer several categories: Elite, U23, Junior, Paratriathletes and Age Groups.

OPEN

Ibiza Multisport 2018 will also organize an “OPEN” format in all the races (for all those athletes who do not classify for the European Championship). The open race will be held simultaneously and will have the same circuits and segments as the European races.

DUATHLON

SPRINT DUATHLON – To be held in Santa Eulalia (AG and Paratriathletes)

  • RUN – 5 km
  • BIKE – 20 km
  • RUN- 2.5 km

STANDARD DUATHLON – To be held in Santa Eulalia (Elite, Sub23 and AG)

  • RUN – 10 km
  • BIKE – 40 km
  • RUN – 5 km
  • Junior: 2.5 km / 20 km / 2.5 km

CROSS DUATHLON. To be held in Sant Joan de Labritja (Port of Sant Miquel de Balansat) (Elite, Sub23, Paratriathletes, AG)

  • RUN – 6 km
  • BTT – 19,5 km
  • RUN – 4 km
  • Junior and Paratriathletes: 4 km / 13,3 km / 2 km

AQUATHLON. To be held in Sant Antoni de Portmany (Elite, Sub23, Junior, Paratriathletes and AG)

  • SWIM- 1 km
  • RUN – 5 km

CROSS TRIATHLON. To be held in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia (Cala Bassa) (Elite, Sub23, Paratriathletes and AG)

  • SWIM – 1 km
  • BTT – 20 km
  • RUN – 6 km
  • Junior and Paratriathletes: 500 m / 10 km / 3 km

MIDDLE DISTANCE TRIATHLON. To be held in Eivissa (Elite, Age Groupers and Paratriathletes)

  • SWIM – 1.9 km
  • BIKE- 90 km
  • RUN – 21 km

AQUABIKE. To be held in Eivissa (Age Groupers)

WHAT ABOUT THE LOST & FOUND OFFICE?

If you lose anything, you can go to the lost & found office at the Expo, next to the place where you will pick up your bag with your bib numbers, at the Fair.

CAN I WEAR MY OWN TRISUIT?

Yes you can if you are racing in the OPEN, you can wear your own trisuit or the one of your club. However, if you are racing in non open events, it is compulsory to wear the trisuit of your National Federation, the country you are representing.

WILL THERE BE AN EXHIBITION AREA- EXPO?

Yes at the Fair of Ibiza and during the hours assigned to pick up the athlete’s bag.

TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION
HOW DO I GET TO IBIZA?

You can get to Ibiza by sea or by air. Ibiza’s airport is in the south of the island, in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia. Many air companies have direct flights with the other Balearic Isles, the Peninsula and other European countries.

Ibiza also has three important ports: Ibiza, Santa Eulària des Riu and Sant Antoni de Portmany. The ferries from the Peninsula (Barcelona, Valencia and Denia) and Palma de Mallorca and Formentera arrive at the ports of Ibiza and Sant Antoni. You can also reach Ibiza on your own boat or on one of the many cruises that have Ibiza as a main destination.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER IN OCTOBER?

In October, average temperatures are between 16ºC at night and 23ºC in daytime. Ibiza is a perfect destination in October to enjoy the Mediterranean sea and have great swims in crystalline waters.

REGISTRATION

To take part in the European Multisport Championship Ibiza 2018, you should comply with the prerequisites regarding allocation of places for the following races: Duathlon, Cross Duathlon, Cross Triathlon, Aquathlon and Middle Distance Triathlon.

Key dates:

-1st of January 2018, registration opens:
-1st of September 2018. Registration closes for athletes with a place obtained at championships in Spain. Classified athletes that register later, will lose the assigned place.
-30th of September 2018. Registration closes for all athletes.

Athletes who have not classified are welcome to race in the OPEN category and they are allowed to wear their personal or club trisuit.

CAN I RACE IN TWO EVENTS OR MORE?

Yes, as long as you comply with ETU specifications or if you race in the OPEN category. You will be given a finisher medal. This medal will gradually incorporate the medals of all your races until you become a Multisport Legend.

IF I HAVE REGISTERED AND I CANNOT RACE, WILL I GET MY MONEY BACK?

If you are going to race in the European Multisport Championships IBIZA 2018 and you need to train your swimming, there are some facilities on the isle you can use.

Yes, athletes are requested to wear their bib number at all times and always visible.
